Begginings |
After an individual search in popular and academic repertoire, Natacha Cabezas and Sebastian Strauchler join together in February of 2008, to create "Antires", intended to perform and study the renaissance music. The following year after that, Gabriela Bogo joins the group, adding the voice and words to our chamber trio, aim at rediscovering this art from the 15th, 16th and 17thI centuries. We opted to recreate this incredible music, researching and learning in a serious and, above all, artistic way. |

| Training | |
We, the three members of Antires, have all got a rich experience as academic soloists, being 2005 the year when we fall in love with the renaissance music, deciding to devote ourselves to study with the most important masters of Argentina and Europe. Actually, we took courses and classes with with world renowned players, such as Víctor Torres, Dolores Costoyas, Manfredo Kraemer, Eduardo Egüez, Teresa Berganza, Hernán Vives, Jose Hernandez Pastor, Graciela Halperyn, Ricardo Ortale, Mariela Schemper and Leonardo Estevez. Finally, we start studies of Early Music, at the Manuel de Falla Superior Conservatory of Music, being this place, the one and only institution that grants such a degree in all South America. We are currently enriching our knowledge in Chamber ensembles of XVI century, Gregorian chant, Notation, Renaissance dances, Ancient tuning, among others subjects. |

| Instruments | |
After an intense and long search, we could get two excellent concert instruments. A luth and a vihuela, which have got splendid sound and beautiful design, like the ones then used to have in the renaissance, with roses, hearts, flowers, etc.). Particulary, both instruments have got a very warm sound, because of the low tension, the string materials and the double order (two strings played at the same time). On the other hand, the mobility of their frets, allow the musicians to tune in different types of temper, so common in that glorious age. |

| The music | |
Devotion to such and ancient music made us get into wonderful and highly moving stories. Interpretating the rhetorical way of transmitting ideas, emotions and action, has always been to us very interesting as well as showing sonorities of that historical context, so that anyone wishing so, may dip into the marvelous times of Leonardo Da Vinci, Miguel Ángel, Galileo Galilei, Copernico or the Catholic kings, Colombus, Queen Elizabeth, Shakespeare or Cervantes. Times in which new worlds, inside and outside the Earth, where found, and the music lived in either a crowded park or within a lonely pilgrim. It’s our passion to bring back this ancient melodies to everyone. In addition, though our concerts are center in the music, we did not want to miss the chance to complete this wonderful jouney by adding texts, images and poetry from those golden years. |
